  • Click Start Menu and navigate/locate Control Panel

Whenever you use the internet in your windows, all your browsing history remains in the depths of your system. The same thing happens when you install something.

It’s like never throwing away the packaging when you buy a new laptop/desktop or a TV.

To get rid of all this clutter:

  • Open My Computer or This PC, and select your Windows installation drive (C:\)
  • Click on the Windows folder then open the folder inside that is called Temp.
    You may use the shortcut by going to the Run dialog box (Win + R) and simply type temp and press the Enter button.
  • Delete all files inside this folder, It will not harm any of your data or Windows files.

Tip 3. Stop Unnecessary Start ups

Whenever you switch on your PC some programs will automatically start and run in the background.

All applications running in the background will use your computer’s memory, so ditch the ones you don’t need to be running.

  • Click Start and type Run.
  • In the run dialog box that appears, type msconfig and click OK
  • At the top, click the Startup Tab, which lists all the applications that run when your computer boots-up.
  • Either manually uncheck the ones that are unnecessary or click disable all but, be sure to keep vital things like antivirus should be on.

Note: if you are using Windows 10, then you can disable startup programs from Windows Task Manager.

Tip 4. Run a Disk Defragment

To do this, follow the steps below:

  • Launch Windows Explorer. To do this, double click on My Computer or This PC
  • Select the Windows installation directory (C:\), right-click and select Properties
  • Under the Tools tab, there should be an option to Defragment Now (in Windows 7), Optimize (in Windows 10)
