Private Browsing Mode (Incognito Mode)

In windows PC, many of the users hang together with different browsers in a single computer. Most popular internet browsers are Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari and Internet Explorer, etc. I am sure; you might have using 2-3 above of them. Many of the users want to use Private Browsing also known as incognito mode for their privacy. If you are browsing in private mode, that prevents browsers from storing your browsing history, cookies and cache. If you want to set your favorite browser private browsing mode as default in Firefox and Chrome, here are the steps given below:

Set Incognito Mode in Google Chrome

Follow the steps given below in order to set incognito mode as default in Google Chrome:

Step 1. Right click on Chrome Shortcut and select “Properties” from the given options.

In case if you do not see google chrome shortcut on your desktop screen, then follow the given path C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs. Now navigate to Google chrome, right-click on it and select Properties.

Step 2. Now Google Chrome Properties will appears on your screen. Under “Shortcut” Tab, navigate to “Target”. Take your mouse cursor at last, put a space and add –incognito as shown in below image. Then click on OK button to close.

All right, we are done now. We have made the settings to open Google Chrome for private browsing. Now on your chrome browser will always open in Private Browsing/incognito mode as default, until you disable it.

How to Disable?

In future, if you want to disable this, just remove -incognito from the end.

Set Private Browsing default In Mozilla Firefox

Step 1. First, open Firefox. Then, go to the top right corner and click on the Hamburger icon to open Firefox settings. Once the Menu appears, select “Options”.

Step 2. On this screen, from the left pane, select “Privacy”. Now under “History” Select Firefox will: Never remember history from the drop down options.

Step 3. At the movement you select Never remember history, you may prompted by Firefox to restart in order to apply these changes. Click on “Restart Firefox now”. It will close and open it automatically within few seconds.

Above made settings will take immediate effect on browser. Now your Mozilla Firefox will always open in Private Browsing/incognito mode as default, until you disable it.

How to Disable?

In future, if you want to disable this, just change to remember history from the list.
