PowerPoint Option Missing

Apparently, you might have lost the Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation option from the “New” right-click context menu. If the PowerPoint option is missing or Word is missing from your Windows right-click menu, that means somehow the Windows registry is modified.

We have already written an article earlier on if the “New” option is missing from the right-click context menu but losing the PowerPoint option is a little different. Check below:

PowerPoint Option Missing from the Right Click Context MenuIn order to restore or fix PowerPoint option missing on Windows, we need to create a missing value on the registry editor.

Follow the below given steps to resolve your issue.

Fix or Restore Microsoft PowerPoint with Windows Registry

As you may be aware, the string value is missing, due to which we have lost PowerPoint from the right click menu.

Therefore, we are going to create a new string value for Windows Registry, which will fix this issue, and we will get back the PowerPoint option.

We recommend you to back up Windows registry before we start with below steps.

Step 1. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box and type, regedit and hit OK to open Windows Registry Editor.

Step 2. Follow the below registry path carefully:

Step 3. Right-click to the free space on right side then, click New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value

Step 5. Make sure the default value of NullFile is “0”. If the value is not zero (0) then, double click on NullFile and change its value to “0” and hit OK to save it.

NOTE: If you have already NullFile located in ShellNew folder and its value is “1” instead of “0” then, directly apply Step 5.

This will immediately affect your Windows registry settings.

Now close everything and go back to your desktop screen. Right-click and navigate to “New” option and you will see a Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation option is back there.
