It should go to the ‘Downloads’ folder by default if you have not changed the default location. Alternatively, press Ctrl + J to find downloaded file while browser is open.
How do I completely remove the previous IDM version including any residual file. Can you recc. any software?
Use Uninstall option from ‘Programs and Features” under Control Panel. Then, delete Temp Files and do a restart.

There are two possibilities that this happened to you…. 1. You might have not removed all previous version of IDM, if any. 2. After installation, it might updated to newer version automatically (Do not upgrade the version)
why a patch when its pre registered??

the patch build up takes time to install why?
Restart you PC and try patch again. Will work for sure.
the extension wont work thou? I tried dragging the .crx file but did not work, then I download the IDM module on chrome, but the download button wont show anywhere.
And how can I update this?
IDM extension compatibility depends on browser version. Though, whenever you play something online, it will pick the download automatically.
