Firstly, I would tell you what a screenshot is?
In simple language, in your Windows machine, a screenshot is an image or a picture that can be taken of whatever you have on your display screen.
For example, let’s say I have a webpage opened on my screen and I would like to take a screenshot of the entire screen or a portion of the webpage.
How would we do it?
There a multiple way wherein you can take a screenshot whatever you have on screen by using keyboard shortcuts or Windows built-in tool.
How to Capture a Screenshot?
Although, there are several ways to take a screenshot if using Windows 10, but in this article, we will show you that how you can take a screenshot with two different methods as follows.

Screenshot with Windows 10 Snipping Tool
In Windows 10, there is a built-in application available called, Snipping Tool.
User can easily launch it and take a screenshot in different modes (free-form snip, rectangular snip, window snip and full-screen snip) then, save it to their desired location.
Here is how you can do it:
Step 1. Launch Snipping Tool in Windows 10. Go to Windows search (Win + S) and type, snipping tool and click on the given result.
Step 2. Choose the appropriate mode. I prefer, “Rectangular Snip”
Step 3. After that, click on New option of snipping tool.
The moment you click on New, screen will be faded this means, you can use your mouse and drag to the portion that you want to screenshot.
Once you are done, taken image will be popped up on snipping tool
Step 4. Now to save your screenshot, go to File Menu > Save as.
Step 5. Finally, another Save As windows will pop up.
- Select the location to save
- Change the File Name if you want to
- Select the file type (PNG, JPEG, GIF, etc.), if needed
- Click Save button
With your above action, taken screenshot has been saved to your chosen location.
To check it, go to the location that you have selected to save and look for the file name that you have saved into.
