Although yes, if you do not want the Windows 10 start menu to take you to the Bing search results, you may turn off or disable Bing search from Windows 10 start menu results.

Turn off Bing Search Results from Start Menu
Yes, we do have an option within Windows 10 that Bing search can be disabled for web searches only.
You can continue using the Windows 10 search from start menu and it will only show you the results from Windows programs only.
Follow the steps given below to turn off Bing searches from the Windows 10 start menu:
Step 1. Open Windows Registry Editor. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box and type the command regedit and then, click on OK button.
Step 2. On Registry Editor Windows, follow the below given path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search
Step 3. While selecting the Search folder from the left pane. Look to the right side and locate BingSearchEnabled and CortanaConsent.
By default, their data values are set to (1).
To disable Bing search for Windows 10 start menu, we need to change the data value to (0). Close the Registry Editor
0 = Off
1 = On
Important: In case, if you do not see “BingSearchEnabled” or “CortanaConsent” then we need to create the DWORD values.
To create value:
- Right-click on the Search folder and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Rename the new value to BingSearchEnabled or CortanaConsent depending on which one you do not see and change their values to 0.
The above task will take immediate effect on your Windows 10 settings and Bing search from the Windows 10 start menu has been disabled. After that, if you still see it then, restart your PC.
For now, it will only help you to search for Windows 10 apps, files and settings only.
Enable Bing Search for Windows 10 Start Menu?
Whenever you want to enable Bing’s search for the start menu in Windows 10, go back to the same registry path given above and change the data values to 1
Alternatively, download one-click Registry Keys to disable or enable Bing Search for Windows 10 Start Menu and then, follow the steps below:
- Click the download button and Save the file to your desktop.
- Extract the downloaded folder and you will find registry keys
- Double click on the .reg file to merge. It depends if you want to disable or enable
- You will get a prompt, click or tap on Run, Yes (UAC), OK to approve the merge.
