What is Notepad? How to Enable Notepad Dark Mode?
Are you aware of the Dark mode or Dark theme feature available in the Notepad program for Windows 11? If not already, let me inform you that Notepad does have the ability to enable a dark mode theme within the program and you can enable Notepad dark mode with ease.
Notepad in Windows 11 is a simple text-editing application that has been a feature of the Windows operating system for many years. It enables users to create and modify plain text files (.txt) without any formatting. To better match the general appearance of the new operating system, Notepad’s capabilities and user interface have been updated in Windows 11.
For basic text editing, scripting, or taking quick notes, Notepad is still a simple, primarily and common tool used by Windows users.

Enable Dark Mode in Notepad on Windows 11
The following steps will help you in activating the dark theme in Notepad application on Windows 11 (specifically). The provided steps do not affect the current theme that is being used on Windows 11.
Dark mode can be activated from within the Notepad app, if you want to use it just for that app alone.
Step 1. Open the Notepad application. Navigate to the top right-side and you will see the settings (gear) icon. Click on it to open the application settings.
Step 2. Click on the App theme to expand its options. You can now select which app theme you want to display: Light, Dark or Use system settings.
The moment you make your selection, the Notepad app theme will be changed with immediate effect.
In addition, Notepad settings will allow you to change its Font, Style and Size. Notepad app has a long list of font families included in it. You can click and select any of the fonts based on your interest.
Font Style will be displayed in its list based on the font family selection. Moreover, there is a font preview panel also available that will display how it looks when you change font settings.
It should be noted that Notepad will change its appearance according to your Windows 11 dark or light mode settings if you have chosen to “Use system setting.”
