There are two types of GPU cards in a computer system as below:

Integrated GPU: An integrated graphic processing unit does not use its own RAM. It uses system RAM instead.

For example, suppose your system has 6 GB of RAM (memory) this means the graphic card will use a few percent of system memory.

Dedicated GPU: A dedicated GPU, as understood by its name “dedicated”; is a separate video/graphic card (small hardware part) with its own memory and fan with heat sink.

View Graphic Card Memory Size in Windows 10 and Windows 11

Press Win + I to open Windows 10 Settings
Click on System -> Display
Navigate to and click Advanced display settings
The above action will open the next page, navigate to and click Display adapter properties for Display
By doing the steps above, it will bring up your system Graphic card properties on the screen. Under the Adapter tab, you will see information about your system graphic card.

For Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 or 8.1

Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
Type command, control and hit OK to open the Windows control panel
Locate and click on Display
From the right-pane, click Adjust resolution
