User Profile Cannot be Loaded

Are you getting this message “The user profile service failed the logon” on your Windows startup screen?

You must be looking for the solution without losing any data from your computer. Don’t worry, will help you fix this problem.

This problem usually happens in Windows Vista and 7 computers due to user profile being corrupted after Windows update.

Updates may not be successful due to interruptions or in case malware/spyware corrupts your user profile then, this message “the user profile service failed to logon” comes up.

You are not the only one who is affected by this problem, there are many other users as well.

In this post, I will show you a step by step guide to fix this problem.

Note: The given steps should work on Windows 7 and later Windows versions including Windows 11.

Fix User Profile Service Failed Issue

Follow the steps carefully given below:

Step 1. Turn off or Shut down your computer. We need to boot your computer into Safe Mode with Networking

Now, turn on your computer and at the moment it turns on, you need to keep tapping the F8 key on your keyboard or repeatedly tap F8 until you see the Advanced Boot Menu on the black screen.

Once you get to the advanced boot option screen, your mouse won’t work on this screen.

You need to use the up and down arrow keys from your keyboard and select Safe Mode with Networking.

Once selected, hit enter from your keyboard.

Step 2. Login to your user account if you have any password setup on it or it will take you directly to your desktop screen (if there is no password for the user account).

Now we need to do a System Restore.

A system restore is a Windows utility wherein you can restore the computer to an earlier date when it gets into the problem.

Doing a restoration will not affect any of your documents, files, music, videos, or any important data that you have saved into the drives or folders.

Restoration will only effect to the Windows settings and features, but yes, you may have to reinstall the software, if any, installed after the restoration date that you have selected.

System restore is a very helpful feature in a Microsoft Windows computer. Your issue gets resolved automatically after the successful restoration of Windows.

Once the restoration process is initiated, do not interrupt in between. It may take 5-15 minutes to complete the process and restart your computer on NORMAL MODE automatically.
