However, there are different types of crawler errors such as Robot denied, Page not found (also known as error 404), you have Ad Crawler errors for a site I don’t manage, etc.

How to Fix Google AdSense Crawler Issues?

The most common one and which we have in the above image is for page not found also known as error 404.

We do have a solution for AdSense crawler issues which states page not found error.

First, we need to verify which URL is affected.

To do so, follow the steps below:

Step 1. Click on the Action button as shown in the notification. Alternatively, you may click on Account from the left pane and select Policy Centre

  • This will show the results on the right side.
  • Herein, under Sites with issues, you will see the website affected page or URL. Click on the given result to deep dive in.

Step 2. You will now see page issues. For instance in our case, Type of issue: Crawler: Page not found

Also, there is one affected page with URL example.com/download-office…%E2%80%8B

What we have found so far is that Google Crawler can’t find this particular page or URL on this website (Crawler: Page not found).

The reason could be any, such as, either page doesn’t exist or never exist, page or URL may be deleted, the URL may be changed, etc.

To check and confirm, you can copy this URL and open it in a new tab of any web browser and paste it there then, hit Enter.

Most probably. It comes with “Oops! That page cannot be found” Or “Error 404” which is similar.

This clearly means that this page or URL doesn’t exists on the website, hence AdSense is throwing ad crawler errors.

In order to fix or resolve the Google AdSense error “You have ad crawler errors, which can result in lost revenue”, we need to stop Google Crawler from checking this URL.

Thinking??, how can we do it?

This can be done from the Google Search Console wherein; your site property is added to crawl.

Now, the rest of the steps we need to do is on Google Search Console.

Login to Google Search Console

Note: Make sure you have copied that URL. For example: in our case it is example.com/download-office…%E2%80%8B

  • From the left side pane, click Removals
  • Click the NEW REQUEST button from the right.

A new Request page will open on your screen. Follow the steps below:

  1. Select the CLEAR CACHED URL tab
  2. Paste the URL that we have already copied above
  3. Select “Remove this URL onlynot the other one
  4. Lastly, click Next to finish the process.

The moment you are done with all the above steps. Feel free to click on Dismiss option shown in the notification.

As a result, next time a Google Crawler runs on your site (usually one or two days or in a few days), that URL won’t be found in crawler error.

Certainly, Google AdSense notification of you having ad crawler errors, which can result in lost revenue will be gone.

Note: For me, that notification goes away automatically after 3 days. Duration may vary in your case.
